How long for Clear and Delete to finish...?

I've used instant cake on a 120gb drive for my directv rca dvr80.

Eveything seemed to go well. I am doing the clear and delete. The message on the screen says this will take 1 hour. It has been more than 3. Is this normal?

If you want to save yourself

If you want to save yourself the wait and get some extra features (such as networking), get the PTVNet upgrade in addition to InstantCake. Boot from the PTVNet disk and type "yes" when it asks if you have an InstantCake CD. After the entire installation is complete, there is no need for a "Clear and delete."

Is this the ptv cd to which you were referring:

PTVupgrade LBA48 CD with MFStools?

If so, it doesn't appear to be recommended for my RCA dvr80 unit. Should I try it? Eight hours and the clear and delete is continuing (I think, since there's no status indicator).

It's a brand new WD 120 GB

It's a brand new WD 120 GB drive, but I didn't format it and run any diagnostics before loading InstantCake.

Should I start over, but format the drive first, this time to make sure it's okay?

You don't need to format the drive. But you should run diagnostics on it.

Thanks for the suggestions.
