I purchased a new drive from DVRUpgrade about 8 months ago for my HR 10 250. Has worked well for that time. I record and extract a lot. There is no phone line connected.
Recently the unit has been freezing up on a daily basis. The freeze ups can only be corrected by unplugging the unit for 30 seconds then powering back up. It hasn't gotten any software updates, it is still on 3.1.5. I tried a Clear and delete everythng this weekend thinking that all of the recording I do could be an issue. It is still freezing up daily. When I say freezing up I mean that whatever picture is on the screen freezes, the unit won't respond to any commands from the remote. It has never corrected itself after a freeze up, I have seen it in the morning, couldn't deal with it right then, saw the same image at night.
Could it be the drive and what is the warranty on this drive that I bought? Could temp of the unit be an issue? What should the normal internal temp of the unit be?
